Mathematics
I received my Ph.D. in math from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 2009. I then worked 11 years as a math professor at Concordia College and the University of Colorado, including one year as a tenured associate professor. My publication record features more than 30 papers in high quality peer reviewed journals. I have taught courses ranging from College Algebra to Numerical Computation to graduate Complex Analysis. I am delighted to share samples of my work with you here.
Writing
I've been lucky to have my Ukrainian poetry published by houses "Kamenyar" and "Spolom" in Lviv, Ukraine and recognized by two awards. I write in Ukrainian and English: poetry, prose, non fiction, educational and mathematical texts. Translations between English, Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish are within my range of expertise; I don't translate into Polish. Please feel free to check out samples of my work and a literary bio here.
Music
I graduated from a music school in Lviv, Ukraine, class of piano. I also play bandura, a Ukrainian folk instrument akin to the harp, and guitar. With my alto voice and perfect pitch, I sang in Galician Choir “Yevshan” in Lviv, Ukraine, and on a tour in France and Germany. I have composed music for piano, bandura, choir, string quartet and voice, guitar and voice, and other. My compositions were performed for public. I have given piano and voice recitals, served as a cantor for Divine Liturgy, and have composed and performed music for theater plays. Samples of my musical work are available here.
