I was born in Ukraine. After graduating from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv as an applied mathematician, I worked as a research and teaching assistant.

I then continued my mathematical studies at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Having earned my Ph.D. in mathematics in 2009, I worked as a professor at Concordia College and the University of Colorado for 11 years.

My high-quality research is featured in the Academic Minute, my effective student-centered teaching in a Faculty Profile. I served academia zealously by organizing lectures and meetings, contributing to numerous committees, giving talks, and reviewing papers. All of these led to my earning tenure and promotion to associate professor in 2019.

While still a student in Lviv, I participated in poetry contests. My poetry books were published by houses "Kamenyar" and "Spolom" in 2010 and 2018. I was accepted into the National Society of Writers of Ukraine in 2019. My poetry won two awards, the 2020 First Prize named by Kateryna Mandryk-Kuybida among them. In 2022, my book "Underwork Yourself: How to Combine Self-care and Work" appeared on Amazon.

I graduated from the Kos-Anatolsky Secondary Music School No. 1 in Lviv, class of piano, additional instrument bandura. I also play guitar. I sang in  the Galician Chamber Choir "Yevshan" and am singing with Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists.

In 2020-2022, I took classes in clinical mental health counseling at Minnesota State University at Moorhead.
